Clachan Gee-Artan @ Midtown

Ruby insisted that her home ported by barge from Gee_Artan Isley to Brigadoon (ported again for budgetary reasons) be moved to the Arts Museum (Pookeepsietomeway). Originally constructed nearly 1,500 years ago, the structure cannot be shaken vigorously. Part of the barge is now part of the house. Repairs continue, the interior is not ready for visitors and the only way up to the house is fairly scary, but its putdown, and that is enough for Ruby.

The Midtown Ladies Guild extolls revision. This "hobbit" abode is cetainly a work of revision. The Gabriel House continues to be worked on. I know he will happen by someday and it must be made ready.

After analyzing what I needed to "excavate" the Midtown Arts Museum Guild worked hard to authenticate Ruby's antiquities pottery kiln, now located in its permanent spot behind the Stone Pottery Shop. The fire is a recycle, but all other parts are newly created, including the textures.

Midtown Arts Museum and Rocking Stone Pottery

Work continues at the Midtown Arts Museum and Rocking Stone Pottery Restoration. The move by barge to bring all the builds together to one lasting destination was a greater than expected task, but it is ready to be filled with artifacts collected during the last 20 years.

Midtown Arts Museum

Midtown was clearly in the mind's eye at least 15 years ago. It was always situated under the overpass in the outskirts of Poohkeepsietomeway, NY.. When Ruby began managing the museum, met the Ladies of the Guild, and started taking her trips into the desert for the purpose of bringing back stories, she found more than imagined to write about. There were no more blank pages. Instead there were so many branches, she never knew which way to turn. Now the museum is materialized, along with her apartment and Stone Pottery Shop. It is a very exciting and busy time for Ruby.

Another UT5 story build, the House of Rose Red overlooks the Seelie Hollow Market Place. Inspired by Tolkien, Lewis, Carroll and Cyan, the 9 sim build and story @ the Devokan Trust is time demanding, but also lots of creative fun.

Seelie Hollows @ Oak & Sterling

Bits and pieces of recycled originals with newly made textures (my own) is so much fun. It is diverting my attention to what I need to build at Na'omh Diluvian, but it is so merry merry, I can't seem to stop.

The Hut at Peathar Domhainn will soon be offered as a free OAR to explorers, who complete the journey (what there is to see and learn) in Na'omh Diluvian. The hut is large enough for a gathering. There are many walkabouts that lead to overlooks. The vardo is home to a nice sleeping mattress.

Artesian Well - "The Source"

Work continues in the Village Area, including writing in a source for Artesian Water.

Ruby is writing her first "writing" journal. In the past she explored many worlds, but this her first attempt at building one from scratch. The benefactor is sure that Ruby can commit to the Aquaborealis people who are determined to make use of the flood damaged Aqua Del Lago de Granja Farm.

In the meantime Ruby continues to look for 5 member so the Midtown Ladies Guild board, who disappeared several weeks ago, after being summoned to the desert.

Ruby Finds a Home

After several months of camping out in various locales, I found a place to settle.  There was no house on the parcel in Brigadoon, Caledon, so she contacted the Ladies Guild.  The guild authorized funding for the move of her ancestral home at Clachan Gee-Artan Crag.  The barge trip took 3 weeks.  It is a long distance from one location to another, especially when I have to think through and make up the logistics of the move.

While the move went on, she worked out age building deals for places she could afford.  Funds usually made possible by Midtown Museum were dried up figuratively and literally, but sometimes a better plan is conjured when sentences are carved out of story, or new lands for building occur out of nowhere on the prior known horizons.  Its all word of mouth, and googling about.

Once the house made its way up the canal in Brigadoon (a tight fit), I set out to make it comfy.  Rotting floors were removed, trap door hinges were fixed, the smithy shop in the back was outfitted with the latest archaeological finds.  The most weighty issue revolved around setting the megalithic era rocking stone into a small space in the front of the house.  I wanted passers by to see how the rock returned to its tilt after being touched.  After placing a few flowers in the box, the stone looked quite nice.

Seanachai Home
Somehow I managed to convince the Midtown Ladies Guild to give me the barn we used in Poohkeepsietomeway to house our cows.  The ladies are too old to milk cows.  They were happy to see the barn and the cows go.  Since the cows are too expensive to herd, I did not keep them.  The barn was easily turned into a Silver and Pottery shop, a dream I've had for years.

Note:  After my small cottage in Austral sunk into the South Steamlands sea, I hesitated to settle into any house (apartments yes, houses no).  When I saw the cliff I knew this was the place to try again.  Renovating the ancestral cottage, also saved from a deluge, is icing on the crag cake.

Refurbished Construction Office in Violet's Story
Today I took some time to sort out branches to the stories I've been authoring for years.  Each story is connected to the another story.  One of the ways I indicate that I am working on a branch is to leave my construction trailer.  I picked up the trailer a long time ago at a yard sale.  Now that it is refurbished the container is comfortable to live in wherever I am building.

...meanwhile back at Lakewater, Oh My!

Today I returned to find the path for months covered by dust.  Where the path leads will end a story that evolved over the last 12 years.  There is a prologue, a coda and drama in between.  Because I've not heard a word from the folks who live at the end of the path, I expect the worst.  If the reader is of the mind to unravel a mystery with me, it will make the experience even more fulfilling.  Come along.

Midtown Silent Film Studio Restoration
(All Artifacts are "Restored by Hand"
Even though papers needed to be graded, Ruby took some time out this weekend to dust off some silent film artifacts she found with the help of her friends at the Midtown Arts Museum.  The ladies insisted that she open a small museum/shop in Winterfell to inform film lovers about Midtown's collection and the working film studio underwritten by Backlot Story Builds, and loosely affiliated with edummersiveworlds (albeit they may not admit to same).

The Wonders of OARs

As of late I've been building an OAR from scratch.  There is something comforting about building on your own hard drive without the aggravations of bandwidth.  Once the project is done it can be loaded in to a 8G flash stick (SIMONASTICK) and sent out for others (students and friends) to discover.  Since its a uniquely personal experience, its more like oil painting - a work of art to brush in the terrain with a texture you've fashioned yourself.   More coming soon.

Ruby's Work

I've been contracted to work on three projects.  An earlier project was already published with Novatech.  Today I sent them the Celestial Toymaker Puppet Theater.  Two more are in the offing.  All are geared toward education.
